by JC Fletcher on November 5, 2010 1: 15 AM Mad Catz-bundle With Catz today announced record net sales in its fiscal 37.4 million Q2, which ended in September. This 73.2 per cent higher than the second quarter of last year. Operating profit was $ 1.9 million, another record and clearly preferable to last year's negative $ 200000.
Xbox 360 sales account for the largest share of sales, 37 per cent. PS3 sales increased percentage, and everything else has shrunk proportionately. The biggest selling item categories wasn't FightSticks, as expected, or even modern warfare 2-branded controllers--it was audio products, including the acquisition of new Tritton. Specialized controllers were best sellers.
"While the second-quarter net sales benefited from initial deliveries of the rock group products and our newly acquired Tritton gaming line," said Darren Richardson, President of Mad Catz, "it is important to note that thanks to our strong portfolio of new products in all of our brands, we will continue to increase for the quarter where the two product lines will be removed from our sales."

A Kinect launch party overviewby Andrew Yoon on Nov 4th 2010 12:30PM 36Microsoft says the future of gaming starts today with Kinect, but this man obviously disagrees. The Time is Fulfilled ... The End is at Hand. After last night's Kinect launch festivities, you might be inclined to agree. Microsoft transformed Times Square into the biggest Dance Central of them all, by getting hundreds of dancers to partake in a coordinated dance routine throughout the evening. The final routine, in which all the dancers collapsed on the floor, was a bit unsettling.
Kinect Launch - Times Square Dance Central Microsoft handed out t-shirts saying "I Am The Controller" to many of the fans waiting in line. Some took that notion more seriously than others:
The group was comprised of mostly Xbox fans -- not a single person looked like they were drawn in via Oprah or Ellen. Well, except maybe this guy:

In the Bible its foretold that "the seventh seal will open when the beast that rests on it's belly in the home, sucketh the light of those who flail to worship it. And you will know this beast to be the beguiling serpent, because it will surpass its goal of selling 5 million units the first fiscal year of its time."
It's right there! We must Repent Now! Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 12:45PM Fail57 said Last guy is such a tool Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 1:45PM JonahStein said @Fail57 Agreed. His face actually reminds me of that thing people do when they're walking along and suddenly remember that they forgot to do something earlier. That sudden realization is a moment of confusion and regret. They try to do a little turn around (thinking for a second they all go all the way back), but think twice and stand there looking stupid before turning back around and going on their way. And in a way, he kinda looks like he's flinching from a surprise kidney shot. Oh, I know... It's probably a mixture of the aforementioned regret smirk with the wincing that results from getting hit in the wallet. Hm... Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 12:53PM xreadmore said MS is really going overboard with this BS. I bet Kinnect has the biggest launch AND biggest return ratios this generation. 2010 has been a huge letdown so far to me. Games have been over-hyped and over-priced. Maybe I'm just over-angry from the let down of Fallout:NV and FableTri. Yes there were some good games (Enslaved) but I'm mostly talking of the hype-train games. Note to developers : If it's broke, delay it!!!!! Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 1:05PM ccc said @xreadmore My friend, did you not play Mass Effect 2 or Bayonetta? Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 1:29PM Nikkinik said @ccc Or FIFA, Alan Wake, Battlefield, Castlevania, Civilization V, Dead Rising, Deathspank, God of war, Rockband 3, Heavy Rain, Lara Croft, Mafia, MAG, Metro 2033, Pokemon, RDR, Shank, Skate 3, SM Galaxy 2 or Maro party wii to name a few. Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 12:58PM copa said I think my favorite part is that Microsoft had these huge giveaways for the first 3,000 NYC residents to buy Kinect, and the only two people in NYC who have a large enough living room for Kinect are Jerry Seinfeld and Donald Trump. Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 4:03PM Bloodwar said @copa Yeah, you need to be downvoted, for real. Easy there PS3 fanboy. 4 or 6 feet from the console is possible. Most people do that anyways. And of course those that wish to go furtther out can. You cant be serious that NY living rooms won't allow 4 to 6 feet of play. Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 1:03PM ccc said "You are the Controller" Thats great. More like you are the tool and a bad one at that. Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 1:10PM EDZiLLUH said the only good game is Dance Central everything else sucks Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 1:28PM trunas said @EDZiLLUH So I take it you didn't buy kinect? If not, please refrain from bashing something you haven't tried yet. Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 1:34PM arrrdawg said The lack of 'soccer moms' is unsurprising. Just went to Best Buy on my lunch and they have a table set up for kinect and there were plenty of them. Only saw one dude buying it, stereotypical xbox guy probably mid 30s. Had kinectimals and I don't think he was buying it for the kids either. Amusingly there is a sign near the front saying they are all out of kinects too, don't think they'll be using it any time soon. Even amazon.com has 'em in stock! Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 1:48PM mynameisjay said This and the Playstation Move have absolutely NO appeal to me. The technology is great, but the software is horribly bland. Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 1:56PM sigma8 said This looks really ... paid-for..
...like the hired cheering sections at the Beijing Olympics. Or that goofy "spontaneous-my-a__" dance at the Microsoft Store. I mean, it's great that the Xbox360 actually has a marketing department (Sony was totally AWOL until Kevin Butler), but everything it does feels like it was brainstormed by stodgy guys in suits.
Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 2:00PM sigma8 said @sigma8 maybe I'm just rubbed the wrong way by the bizarre coordinated dance event, and the overly enthusiastic guy at the end (and the guy next to him who seems equally overly enthusiastic). Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 2:04PM EMaster said Motion controls are Stupid! All across the board. For ALL consoles. U know how I like to play Video Games? With my ass sitting down on something comfortable, with my feet *possibly* up or my body reclined, with a wireless controller in my hand with full batteries. I don't need to look like a friggin' tool, flailing my arms around while I have this white plastic thing, glowing dildo, or nothing in my hand flailing around, while someone walks by and thinks I'm having a damn seizure.
So for all you fanboys who go well the (insert fanboy's console) isn't as bad because of blah blah blah. NO, they are all stupid and bad across the board. . A wireless control pad IS JUST FINE. Thank you. Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 2:17PM logicplay said @EMaster

Reply Posted: Nov 5th 2010 4:38PM neoXmahi said Maybe Microsoft will actually pull it off. Its selling better than I thought, for how buggy and unresponsive the unit is and the space required to have a full Xbox 360 Kinect experience. Not sure what to think about it. GameStop had a picture at Move's launch, and it was dead silent. There's a line in Time Square forever long for Kinect. Maybe Microsoft did it and beat the competition again.
Mothers were coming in to work with their children to get Kinect, and $150 seemed like no problem to them. Its a problem to me. Not paying $150. Price drop, and better games, and I might be in. I thought Gears of War 3 would use it. Reply Posted: Nov 4th 2010 5:01PM McDuckScrooged said Its a mixed bag, some sites have given it good reviews others have given it pretty average reviews. Most have pointed out that its not ready software wise,
